Training
If you are a parent, teacher or teacher assistant supporting deaf children in education and want to develop your knowledge and understanding or want to make professional links and collaborate with others, then we can help you achieve that.
We provide training programmes led by recognised experts in teaching and research of deaf education.

School visits and courses
Some of the consortium schools regularly offer visits, training and day courses that are designed for teachers working bilingually with deaf children and young people in any setting.
The current issues and developments are shared in workshops and training days.
Information on these can be found on each school’s website.
Curriculum and Assessment Seminar days
These Seminar days offer primary and secondary curriculum and assessment leaders the opportunity to come together to share their ideas and good practice around personalising the curriculum to meet the needs of deaf bilingual leaners.
Primary members undertake assessment and moderation activities, as well as benchmarking the attainment and progress of their learners.
SBC Research Seminar days
Every two years we host a joint INSET day for staff from consortium schools and services.
We invite researchers to present on the outcomes from their research projects and also other consortium members to lead presentations on their good practice.
The last joint Research Seminar Day was held on 27th February 2023 and information on the next conference will be made available.
